It's been a "solid" week

Well, well, well, feeding solids to an almost 7 month old has proven to be much more challenging than I thought.  He is stuck on the bottle and at this point nothing is getting in his way of enjoying it-- not even bananas, carrots, applesauce or butternut squash and definitely NOT cereal.  Although, he does like carrots and butternut squash better than the other foods he has tried.

Feeding time in the Silversmith household has been a lot of trial and error.

During the feeding frenzy, I have found that certain bibs are better than others.  The one in the video he can easily take off and make a mess of himself.  So, I have fallen in love with the bib in the picture below.  For some reason, Asher cannot get it off. I am surprised that I can feel so much joy in such a bib, but it makes clean up that much more bearable because I don't have to change his outfits.  At these times, I feel like I am truly a mom when discussing the quality of a bib.

Don't let this photo fool you!  Most of feeding time does not look like this.

It looks like this...

Asher is convincing himself that his thumb is his bottle--note the food in his hair.

Mommy swoops in to save the day with the mighty bottle!
After all this fuss over feeding, we have almost forgotten to mention the unbearable heat this past week in DC. With the heat index reaching 115 degrees, we have spent most of our time indoors. However, that has not stopped me from dressing Asher in some adorable cotton outfits.  I am not kidding...look at the cute little outfit below.

Daddy thinks that Asher looks like a little Dutch boy in this outfit.

Do you see the rolls above his knees? Love it!!!

Nap time was so cute today, I thought the blog should end with what I saw.
