Desert Baby

Ahhh....little Asher hopped on a plane to Arizona for some rest and relaxation this past week.  It was a fantastic trip.  The weather was perfect, in the 90s, with no HUMIDITY.  The Silversmiths soaked  in the sun and Asher loved the extra perk of being with his Bubbie who joined us for the trip to the Southwest.

We flew into Phoenix, but drove to Tucson, where Mommy was born.  We stayed in Tucson for the majority of our trip.  The first stop was the pool.  We weren't sure how Asher would take to the pool.  It was his first time in the water. Before the trip we stocked up on the latest pool gear and accessories for infants.  We were a little skeptical in the infant float. However, all our fears vanished the minute our little fish got in the pool.  Here are the pictures and video to document the event.  Watch out Michael Phelps....

All smiles for the happy family!

Fun in the sun!
He loves to splash in the water and it took many shots with the camera to get him to look up.

Finally, a picture of Asher looking at the camera. He is a little miffed here because he would much rather be splashing his hands in the water.

Every night in Tucson, we tried to put our little baby in the water before bedtime. Little Asher relaxed, played with his toys, and then once out of the pool he went to sleep without even a little peep.  I told Asher's Daddy that we
needed to get a pool in our next house.

We didn't just lounge in the pool.  We also went searching for the Kosher Deli in Tuscon, which happened to be closed on 2 of the 3 occasions that we tried to stop in.  That did not deter us and eventually we sat down to corned beef sandwiches, lox and bagels, and Doctor Brown's soda in bottles, not cans!!! Our poor little baby was so tired of being dragged around the city. Here are some pictures of our sleepy baby.

I was trying to prop up his head, he was so tired, it kept flopping over.
Having fun with my sleepy boy!
After all the deli food, it was time to take in what Tucson had to offer. We stopped at the University of Arizona. We loved the campus with the palm trees, blue sky, and cacti as the scenic backdrop.

Next, on our "must see" list for Tucson was visiting Saguaro National Park. Unfortunately, Asher stayed in the car and missed all the pretty cacti. He was snoozing so we are fairly certain that he was dreaming about them instead.  Daddy and Mommy took some pictures outside of the car to show that we were there.  What a beautiful sight.

The following day, we traveled on a tram through Sabino Canyon.  It was a lot of fun and the people sitting next to us were so busy laughing and playing with Asher that they ended up not taking in any of the scenery, oh well, what can you do? We loved Sabino Canyon and now understand why people love Tucson, especially in October.

On the tram through Sabino Canyon.

It was too bright for Asher in the Canyon. He kept covering his eyes.

Our little family
To top off our Arizona adventure, we made our way to Scottsdale.  After becoming a little lost in the town and trying to find shopping and a good meal in 97 degree weather, we made it.  Happily, we found both and enjoyed our last night in the beautiful desert sun. Hopefully, we will make our way back soon.
